1. Who we are

DeukDai is a local place-discovery service focused on restaurants, cafes, food stalls, resorts, and other useful places in Cambodia. In this policy, “DeukDai,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the team operating the DeukDai services.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account details such as your name, email address, optional phone number, profile photo, and password in protected hashed form.
• Social-login information such as the provider name, provider account identifier, name, email when available, and profile photo. We do not intend to retain your Facebook, Google, or Apple password.
• Community contributions such as ratings, reviews, recommendations, comments, likes, photos, check-ins, favorites, place listings, place updates, menus, and reports.
• Messages and support information you send to us.

Location information

If you choose to use nearby search, maps, check-ins, or place contribution features, we may process your device location or a location you select. We use this information to provide the requested location-based feature. DeukDai does not need continuous background location access for ordinary discovery.

Technical and usage information

When you use DeukDai, our systems and service providers may receive information such as IP address, browser or device type, operating system, requested pages, timestamps, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP address, app diagnostics, and interactions with service features.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Create and secure accounts, authenticate users, and maintain sessions.
• Provide search, nearby discovery, place profiles, reviews, favorites, check-ins, recommendations, and contribution tools.
• Display public contributions and contributor identity where the service indicates they are public.
• Maintain place accuracy, moderate harmful or fraudulent activity, investigate problems, and enforce community conditions.
• Respond to support requests and communicate about important service or policy changes.
• Measure reliability and usage, troubleshoot errors, and improve DeukDai.
• Comply with law, protect rights and safety, and prevent misuse.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We may share or make information available in these circumstances:

• Public contributions: reviews, ratings, photos, profile identity, place information, and other content intended for public display can be seen by other users and search engines.
• Service providers: hosting, storage, authentication, maps, analytics, security, email, and technical providers may process information for us under their own contractual and privacy obligations.
• Social-login providers: when you choose Facebook, Google, Apple, or Telegram login, the provider and Firebase process authentication information under their respective policies.
• Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, prevent fraud or harm, or protect users, DeukDai, and the public.
• Organizational change: information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

5. Cookies, local storage, and measurement

DeukDai uses cookies or local device storage to remember preferences such as language and appearance, maintain account state, and support security. We also load Google Tag Manager to manage measurement technologies. Depending on the tags configured, Google and other measurement providers may process device, browser, and interaction information under their own privacy policies.

You can control cookies through your browser and clear locally stored data. Blocking necessary storage may prevent login, saved preferences, or parts of the service from working correctly.

6. Retention and security

We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide DeukDai, maintain public contributions, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose. Information may remain for a limited period in backups or security records after deletion.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong password, protect your device, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized account activity.

7. International processing

DeukDai and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection rules. We take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate to the information and service involved.

8. Children's privacy

DeukDai is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update some profile information directly in your account. For other requests, email info@deukdai.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

You may remove content you can edit through available product controls or ask us for help. Removing an account does not always require removal of every public contribution; where appropriate, we may anonymize contributions so place and community information remains useful.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as DeukDai changes. We will publish the revised policy here and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate.
